Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) posts a banner week, with 18 new vessels under contract over four different companies that will be coated with MarineLINE®. Captain Onur Yildirim, APC’s Global Marine Manager, and Captain Koray Karagozm APC Turkish Marine Sales Manager reported the successful meetings with long-time customers while on a recent business in Turkey.
MarineLINE® will continue to protect all 18 vessels after having successful tenures with the coating system already in place. Ten of the ships to be re-coated belong to long-time APC customers and one of the largest ship management companies in Turkey, Chemfleet.
Chemfleet currently has 21 total chemical tankers, 10 of which are directly owned, that all possess the MarineLINE® cargo tank coating system. Captain Karagoz states, “Chemfleet ultimately chose MarineLINE® to continue protecting their fleet because they can carry a wide range of chemicals without any restrictions and also possess incredible ease of cleaning.” Chemfleet also noted that shipyards recoating periods are much shorter and more affordable than epoxy coating coatings.
These ten vessels came due for tank inspection after their third special survey, 15 years in service. The Chemfleet vessels will require a total of 45,000 square meters to be coated with MarineLINE®.
